Description

The section of Kastrinskaya Street, becoming pedestrianised, becomes a crucial link in a new system of public spaces, connected to the existing one (Revolution Square) via a small square within the triangular block and a wide at-grade crossing.
Existing and restored cultural heritage sites and historic contextual buildings are opened towards the inner square, facing it with their summer terraces and an amphitheatre embedded into the topography. The qualified management of pedestrian flows and appropriate functions (tourism and hospitality, an excursion bureau, small hotels, cafés, museum branches, exhibition spaces, workshops, crafts, national cultural centres) will ensure investment attractiveness, profitability, and self-sufficiency. In two places along the perimeter of the triangular block – vehicle entry points for residents – gates and barriers are permissible.
