Description

The Voskhod Palace of Culture building was constructed in 1964 according to a standard design in the Soviet Modernist style. The palace's distinctive feature and highlight is the original embossed bas-relief on the main facade.
The building has a complex volume and simple, restrained facades. The facades are enriched with small three-dimensional decorative elements – niches and cornices. The simple volumes are harmoniously complemented by ribbon glazing on the stairwells. On the main facade there are frescoes applied in more recent times. Some window openings are covered with banners and are not used for their intended purpose. The cohesive perception of the facade is disrupted by the presence of many elements – frescoes, a clock, a screen, posters, and the bas-relief.
Currently, the Voskhod Palace of Culture requires reconstruction in line with the contemporary needs of the settlement's residents and the staff and management of the Palace of Culture. The building's facade finishes also require a review of architectural solutions – it is necessary to preserve and highlight the unique architectural elements and stylistic features.
