"CHESS PARK" DESIGN PROJECT FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF THE PARK ON ST. DZERZHINSKOGO IN THE TOWN OF BORZYA
LOCATION: Zabaikalsky Krai, Borzya
AREA: 0.8 ha
STATUS: concept
AUTHOR’S COLLECTIVE: architects Polina Zaslavskaya, Lida Khokhlushina, visualizer Alena Aleshina

The main plot of the concept is Alice’s journey through the chess field. Appropriate entourage begins with the entrances to the park, which are represented by light arches in the form of portals and in conjunction with the lighting create a sense of parade. There are two chess grounds in the park — the main square with a fountain and a small square with large chess pieces, which visitors can play with. Next to the large area is a children’s area, its main element — a steam locomotive, which is involved in the story of Alice in Looking Glass, in the part where Alice traveled on it.
In close proximity to the main chess square is a chess pavilion with pergolas, where you can ride on swings. The benches are swings with a canopy that will protect from the bright, scorching sun in the summer. The chess pavilion is open, not heated, it can hold competitions among schoolchildren and other events, it will be freely accessible to all residents. Along the main pedestrian axis there are pockets with concealed sockets for commercial installations.
for selling cotton candy, ice cream, lemonades, or installing an amusement park, for example.
