The design area borders the main city thoroughfares, the river station, and also includes intercity public transport stops. The concept proposes to create a logistics zone, which will concentrate parking lots, a comfortable stopping point and cab parking spaces. Here in a reconstructed object there will be a visit-center — a starting point of tourist routes on Sretensk and the Sretensky area, and the design area will become a welcoming platform for city visitors.
The concept of the project is designed to link the public spaces of the central part of the city and objects that are points of attraction for citizens. It is proposed to arrange intra-block passages in the central part of the city. This creates a pedestrian axis with commercial content to the south and cultural and educational content to the north. The central square, which absorbs the city’s meanings and functions, becomes the connecting link between the blocks and the axis’s core.
